The Hon. Dean Brown, AO

chairman
Former Premier and Minister of the South Australian Government and Member of the South Australian Parliament from 1973-1985 and 1992-2006. Dean was also Deputy Premier and Leader of the Opposition. He is Chairman of InterMet Resources Limited, a Director of Scantech Limited, Foodbank SA and the Playford Memorial Trust; the Premier's Special Advisor on the Drought and a member of several advisory boards. Previously he was a Director of AACM International Pty Ltd (1986-92) and a Senior Agricultural Scientist, SA Government. Dean is also chairman of the Nomination Committee and a member of the Audit and Remuneration Committees for Hillgrove.
Drew Simonsen

Drew was the Global Head of Energy & Resources, Telecommunications & IT for Westpac Banking Corporation where he worked for over 15 years. Prior to Westpac, he worked for Bank of America in Australia, the USA and Hong Kong for 10 years including roles as Vice President Project Finance, Director of Investment Banking, Director of Corporate Banking and Director of Financial Markets. He has been involved with many energy, resource and infrastructure project and corporate financings in Australia and overseas. Mr Simonsen has also worked for CRA Ltd (now Rio Tinto) in mining engineering roles in Australia.
John Gooding

non-executive director
John is a Mining Engineer with 30 years' experience in the resources industry. He has held executive management positions with Normandy Mining, MIM, Xstrata (CEO Xstrata Copper Australia), Ok Tedi Mining and Roche Mining. John has extensive experience in gold and base metal mining (both underground and open-cut) through the management and operation of mines in Australia and internationally. He is a former board member of the Queensland Resource Council and has held directorships in a number of companies in the resources industry. John is Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer at Highlands Pacific Ltd. John is a member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committees.
John Quirke

Starting his career as a secondary school teacher, John soon became Private Secretary to a Federal Senator before being elected the Member for Playford in 1989. In 1997 he became a Federal Senator and then Deputy Chief Whip before resigning in 2000. John's extensive State and Federal committee experience has included competition policy, public works, economics and finance, and he has been an active member of numerous legislative committees specialising in mining and economics since. He is a Trustee to the Australia/Cambodia Foundation and Director of Operation Flinders. John is Chairman of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Nomination Committee.
Douglas Snedden

non-executive director
Doug has more than 30 years’ experience in finance, audit, strategic management and outsourcing, largely gained through a distinguished career at Accenture (formerly Andersen Consulting). He has experience working in Australia, as well as the United Kingdom, South Africa, USA and throughout the Asia Pacific region; providing management and financial advice to some of Australia’s biggest companies before retiring from the position of Managing Director of Accenture’s Australian business in June 2008. Doug has also been a Director of a number of organisations since 1996 and currently holds directorships in Transfield Services Limited, the Black Dog Institute, the St James Ethics Centre, and is Chairman of Odyssey House, in addition to undertaking other charitable work. Doug is Chairman of the Hillgrove Audit Committee and member of the Nomination and Remuneration Committees.
Edwin Zemancheff

Edwin brings significant commercial, corporate and legal experience to the board having been an International partner of global law firm, Baker & McKenzie. Edwin has 25 years of practice experience in all aspects of commercial real estate and land use law having acted for a number of major clients on significant market leading transactions. He has a deep knowledge and understanding of the complex legal, commercial and market issues confronted by leading global and local industry participants in the commercial real estate sector. Edwin is a non-executive director of Fortius Funds Management Limited and is Chairman of Waratah Rugby. Edwin is a member of the Audit and Nomination Committees.
