The Hon. Dean Brown
Chairman
Mr Brown has had a distinguished career in South Australian politics spanning a period of thirty years. He served as the Premier of South Australia from December 1993 to November 1996 and has held a number of key Ministerial posts prior to retiring from Parliament in March 2006. Mr Brown has worked as a management consultant in both the private and public sectors and holds a number of board appointments, including the National Youth Mental Health Advisory Board and Foodbank SA. He was the independent chair of the Strathalbyn Community Consultative Committee, established by the South Australian Government to consider issues relating to Terramin Australia’s proposal for a zinc mine near Strathalbyn.

David Archer
Managing Director
David has held executive and non-executive roles in a number of Australian and international companies. He founded Savage Resources Limited in 1985. Savage’s portfolio included the Ernest Henry copper gold mine in North West Queensland, the Liddell coal mine in the Hunter Valley in NSW and zinc mining and smelting operations in the United States. He founded and was executive Chairman of PowerTel Limited until 1998. David is currently also the Chairman of InterMet Resources Limited. He is a barrister (non-practising) of the Supreme Court of New South Wales and a Fellow of the Australasian Institute of Mining and Metallurgy.

Ron Belz
Non-Executive Director
Ron, a foundation director of the new Hillgrove, has been a Certified Practising Accountant (CPA) for over 16 years and has his own practice in Sydney. Ron has extensive knowledge of accounting and taxation law in Australia.

John Gooding
Non-Executive Director
30 years' experience in the gold and base metals resources industry covering mining, smelting and refinery operations, sales and marketing, and work on major capital expansion projects. Started as a mining engineer for CRA, then Normandy Mining as Executive General Manager - Operations, MIM Holdings and then Xstrata Copper Australia as Chief Executive Officer - Copper Australia. This was followed by a contract role as Unit Executive Manager - Technical Services at Ok Tedi Mining before joining Roche Mining in the role of Executive General Manager of the Underground Division and then of Queensland/Pacific. John has held directorships in a number of companies within the resources industry and recently joined Highlands Pacific Limited as Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.

John Quirke
Non-Executive Director
John's career in politics commenced with him becoming a Private Secretary to a Federal Senator between1985-1989. He then served as the Member for Playford in South Australia from 1989 to 1997 and was elected Senator for South Australia from 1997 to 2000. John also served as Deputy Chief Whip in Federal Parliament from 1998 to 2000. During his political career, he gained extensive committee experience at State and Federal levels which included competition policy, public works, social development, economics and finance and also served as a member of numerous legislative committees specializing in mining and economics.

Dale Ferguson
Executive Director – Exploration & Operations
Dale has played an important role in assisting the development of Hillgrove’s exploration project portfolio, securing tenure and the implementation of its exploration and development programs particularly, and has been particularly involved with the Kanmantoo Copper-Gold Project. Dale has an extensive industry background developed over twelve years having worked previously with Thundelarra Exploration, Resource Exploration and Resource Service Group. He has been associated with a number of discoveries in Australia including Eileen Bore, Copernicus and Salk Ni-PGM, Big Ben PGM and three new kimberlites at the Aries project with Thundelarra, the discovery of the Fields Find and Dauphin Ni-PGM bearing Layered Ultramafic complex’s, and the Weiro and Raven Gold Prospects with Resource Exploration.

Russell Middleton
Company Secretary and Chief Financial Officer
Russell joined Hillgrove in January 2008 with almost 20 years experience in the mining industry. During his career Russell has worked for both BHP and Shell in senior management positions in accounting, commercial and planning roles. He also has significant experience with mine project evaluations and construction of new mines. Russell started his career as a public accountant before joining BHP as an accountant. He undertook various roles with BHP before joining Shell where he was Commercial Manager for the construction, development and production of a major underground mine. Over the past few years Russell has been Chief Financial Officer for contracting and services companies in the mining sector.

Marty Adams
Project Manager – Kanmantoo Mine
Marty joined the team in April 2006 to oversee the expanding activities at the Kanmantoo Copper/Gold Mine project in South Australia. He comes to Hillgrove with a vast array of experience, most recently with Centralian Minerals at the Chariot underground gold mine in Tennant Creek, was at the Legend operated Gidgee underground gold mine in Western Australia, and with Australia’s largest gold producer, Newmont Australia Ltd. Prior to this Marty was General Manager of Normandy Mining’s Tennant Creek Operations, spent a significant period with the Waihi Gold Mining Company at their open pit gold mine, as well as holding technical and mine planning roles. Marty has a Bachelor of Engineering (Mining) from the University of Melbourne and a MBA from Deakin University.
